Social and economic situation of the Municipal Formation

Geography

The Municipal Formation Primorsko-Akhtarsk District is located in the north-western part of the Krasnodar region on the Priazovsko-Kubanskaya Plain on the coast of the Sea of Azov. Carbonate Pre-Caucasian black soils are the main background of the region, and there are flooded marsh saline soils in the southern part.

Administrative Division

The Municipal Formation Primorsko-Akhtarsk District includes the administrative center – the town of Primorsko-Akhtarsk and 8 rural settlements. The population of the district as on January 1, 2017 is 59.425 thousand people, from which 31,900 people live in the town. The economically active population of the district is 37.5%.

Territory of the District

The area of Primorsko-Akhtarsk district is 250.4 thousand ha, among them agricultural lands are 111.8 thousand ha, a water fund is 58.5 thousand ha, and farm fields are 77.8 thousand ha.

Climate

The climate is moderate continental. There are 235 sunny days per year.

Activities

Agriculture, processing industry, resort development, a consumer sphere and construction are main activities of the MF Primorsko-Akhtarsk District.

The Primorsko-Akhtarsk district is attractive for treatment, recreation, tourism, hunting and fishing. The warm Azov Sea, extensive beaches, the presence of the iodine-bromine water, therapeutic hydrosulfuric mud, plenty of valuable species of fish and poultry in flood plains. Plantations of Indian lotus are a brand of the district; it is an unforgettable sight in flowering period.

There are such natural materials as clay and feeding shell in the district.

Transport

The motorway "Krasnodar – Primorsko-Akhtarsk" and the railroad "Timashevsk –Primorsko-Akhtarsk" cross the territory of the district.

Investors

Large investors in the district are: the construction company Azak Investment Company, LLC, the Primorskaya Poultry Factory, LLC and the Specialize Seed-Production Beysug Stud Farm.

Industry

There are 2 industrial enterprises, among large and medium-sized ones in the Primorsko-Akhtarsk District.

Agriculture

Agriculture is 44.8% of the production volumes in the structure of the basic sectors of the Municipal Formation Primorsko-Akhtarsk District. There are 9,762 private farms and 152 peasant farms in the district.

Plant growing is a main direction of the agricultural enterprises of the district with main indicators of the production of grain, sugar beet and sunflower.

In 2017, the district took the IId place of the yield of grain and grain legumes in the central zone.

Animal agriculture is a second most important sector in the district; the production of livestock and poultry in live weight, as well as the milk production are a main activity of agricultural enterprises.

Social Sphere
